Jim is sick with the flu. I hope he doesn't give it to me.
Maybe my awesome immune system is fighting it - I feel drowzier than usual.
SHoooot! lol.

That is ok.
I hope I can bolster energy to do some speed work on lunch. Or maybe after work.
We'll see.

Repeats

Today I think I will do some repeats while on my run. Time to change it up; time to start the speed work I have been mentally preparing for. After all, I did a diagnostics on myself and did pretty well - except, now I just need to get my body a little more acclimated to speed drills instead of doing a shock "zomgs wtf are you doing to me," like I experienced last Friday. My results were a lot more awesome than I expected - though.

I ran 1.5 miles in 11:33. Part of me wonders whether that was a fluke, or if I am really that awesome.
Needless to say, today's goal (even though all day I have sort of been dreading moving at all) is 3 repeats:
Run as hard as I can for 8 minutes, walk for 4.

If I calculated right, 1.5 miles at 12 minutes equates to 4 minutes for half a mile. And twice of 4 minutes is 8.
So, if I run for 8 minutes hard, that should be roughly a mile. And then 4 minutes recovery. (That will be less than a mile, but long enough to hopefully catch my breath one would think.)

Can I do it??? heehehe. AH well. It is time to give up the oblivious distance runs and venture further into the speed work category. Hell, it might even be quite fun! Besides. I am my own trainer, it isn't like I can't modify it if it isn't working for me. Damnit.
lol.
