Droning on and on. )

Oh. And after doing some ice-skating moves: I can I recall being this sore from working on them several months ago. Here it is again. And for a while I had soreness from the pushups. Yesterday I thought 30% of my body hated me. My legs for longes are sore. I did one or two spirals, but when I first got on the ice it felt like the 9 months was really forever since my last trip around the rink. I relaxed after 15-20 minutes.

Completely separate note:
I would have taken sick leave if I wasn't so close to the end of the year and so close to earning extra annual leave. Secondarily. Why be sick at home when I can come in to work, get paid, and be head-coldy? I could never justify taking time off for a lousy headcold. Puking, yes. Nausuea, yes. Viruses - yes. Headcolds, not so much.

Good gods! I haven't updated all day.
This is amazing. Today was pretty busy at work with some work stuff. I had an entertaining time doing a ride-along, while working on voice recognition software. I have come to the conclusion that the software that we are testing sucks. Okay, maybe a lot of the time it will pick stuff up properly, but for the rest of the time I just stare at it thinking, "wtf?"

Engine noise affects it greatly. *grumbles* Anything over 40 mph results in the wrong letters being transcribed. That's annoying.
Most of the time our PD doesn't go faster than that, yet... still.
For the amount of money that is up on this project, I really do not think I could possibly let it go.

Other stuff: Finally got my DSL up and going. The wifi reaches my desk. This is fantabulous! My life has just gotten a whole lot easier, and I anticipate no more packet losses. I was so sick of the dropping. In fact, I was going insane.

I went to AF's house to work on her computer stuff. Silly AF. She is always so grateful that I take time out to stop by her house. She lives close to me and it isn't a big hassle, so it's worth it for a few extra $. You know, pays for a few drinks, or coffee, or food.
Brief visit with moshker is in order, and then - most likely off to my parents' place to meet up and hang out with the family.
Saturday is the 2 party day.
Sunday is the ice skating day. (Meeting up with Jill. Moshker and T may drop by to watch. Or. Something.)
Though I hardly think there's much to watch, unless of course you're watching my sister ;) She's getting better and better and better at ice skating the more she does it, obviously. I feel like I am at a plateau in skill. I can do spirals okay. I guess I will just have to keep working on spirals and hoping I can get just a little more flexible so that my leg can go higher and look straighter.

Oh, and longes. Eeek. Longes.
And 3 point turns with one foot, and not two, on both inside and outside blades. That's hard. And backwards crossovers in one direction. I have one direction down, and I am excessively weak on the other side. This is because while learning these, I had just injured my back at work, and I was unable to practice the other direction. And just because you know it one direction on the ice, has NOTHING to do with how well you'll know it on the other direction. Basically it's like learning it ALL OVER AGAIN.

And so I'm weak because now that I am proficient one way, I am less enthused to look like a dunderhead the other way. I should suck it up. And there's that whole, "Is that my back doing something weird?" syndrome. Paranoid about re-injuring. It's been over a year though. *siiighs*

Anyway. This will have to do for my Friday post!
This weekend sounds nice. And my head cold is improving, step by step!

Tally, ho - folks!
