Drowned in pages
Dec. 2nd, 2006 04:03 pmToday I have drowned myself in the pages of another fiction novel.
I thought VC Andrews was fun, and so I ordered a set of one series. But the series is beginning to get so outlandish!!!
The first book was good.
The second book was still carying some intrigue for me.
On book three out of four and I think by the time I hit #4 I will be raising my eyebrows and laughing at her theme.
Her characters never take a breath.
Ah, well. GOOFY. Like a soap opera in book form.
When I was much younger I had read one or two of her other books.
I liked how she found a way to get emotion out in her writing.
So I thought I'd try reading a couple of others.
And now my brain is like WHA?
Anyways. Last night was fun! I went out to dinner with Ryan, Shane, and Kelsi.
Lovely!!!! We had such a good time at dinner. We agreed to come back to my place for prefunking as we contemplated taking Ryan out to the club.
Instead we ended up deciding to stay here.
I mixed some drinks out of my drink book and immediately realized they were STRONG ASS drinks.
So I continually dilluted them with juice instead of using the exact book mixings.
We chatted and hung out mellow like. It was pleasant and fun. We didn't get much beyond mildly buzzed, and we had useless convo.
Hm. I think I should start being less crass. I think I freaked out some of Jim's army buds on WoW.
They think I'm "weird," and not in a bad way, just that I am weird. I just thought the snowpenis thing was funny and that army guys of all people would find it amusing?
Heh. Nevermind.
I forget that mundanes aren't as sex-positive and my sarcastic jokes didn't make as much sense to them as I might of figured.
Oh well. I'll try harder to blend into the mundanes and make less comments around the ones who don't know me so much.
Either way, screw them.
Jim was amused. (His comment was, I make comments that are crazy all the time hm,) and we came to the realization that it was a sexism thing. And Sutton is married to his high school sweetheart who is a very girly-girl. So this being said, he isn't used to a woman that is more comfortable being one of the guys.
He also rarely hangs out with the guys and his wife.
I just assume army dudes are used to the vulgar sort.
Culture, culture, culture.
At least Wes thinks I'm cool none the less.
I messaged them as I would any other stranger on the internet. Heh.
Okay so anyways.
My dogs are happy to hang out at home solidly.
I am reluctant to leave in some ways. This week has been refreshing.
Tonight I have plans with Kelsi and Mel to help her mom decorate their house. I guess it is a really nice house.
Now that I think about it, decorating isn't my thing.
Oops.
Hanging out with them for a while.
Then Jim is hoping I'll drive down tonight to Tacoma and stay at his place - as there is a family event (army event) going on Sunday. I am not looking forward to choosing my outfit. He told me to dress like I was going to the club. Blah.
The good news is that he is wearing his dress uniform and that prospect makes me happy. lol.
Soooo hot ;)
Anyways. Who knows. I need to snap out of my fantasy book world, I am beginning to feel like one of the characters and it is hard to shake it free :P
As kdana posted earlier... well, I too start temporarily taking on mannerisms that I've read about if I am too intent on reading - and JESUS this girl in the book is beyond messed up by now heh.
Anyway. Jimmy got off Drill early today and called me all bright and cheerful. That was pleasant.
Wherein he informed me they "talked about me today." Lovely, lovely. I'll try not to feel like a hoe.
Hm. I'm hungry and have yet to eat today.
The call was pleasant but I missed my mom's call. I need to get dressed and leave and maybe I'll have time to call on the road to Kirkland to meet Kelsi. And maybe I can grab some food then?
I am running out of time!!
