Oh, oh! I think I remember Friday now??
May. 30th, 2006 04:39 pmFriday!
Friday was awesome.
Jim wanted to go out and meet his friends at their favorite bar. This bar was the bar that all the military folks seem to hang out at. Soooo, a majority of these folks were military people. We got there, Jim got us a drink, and we started chilling.
I socialized with some new people and enjoyed kicking back. It had been a long, tiring day. We drove my car to the bar, blahblah. This committed me to a perfect number of drinks: 2 or less.
We danced some because the place had a dance floor. We were hungry, though we decided to hold off on getting food until after the fact. So yeay for brief dancing, although I was wearing a ¾ sleeve shirt and that made it hot, as well as the fact I had my hair down. You get the picture.
We didn’t dance long and that was fine with me. I met some girl named Candy, she seemed super nice and I thought she was pertiful and all that.
Yeay pertyful ladies.
I guess Candy is one of Jim’s good girlie-friends. Later he told me she “approved,” or thought I was “nice.” Well, that’s because I am nice of course – and that was relieving. I know he respects his friends’ opinions a lot.
We made our way to order a second drink (I was silly and didn’t realize that is what the cocktail waitresses are for) yet – I think it was worth it to go to the bar because I was cracking up over the fact that there were these older women (nothing against them really) but they were totally picking up on the drunk younger army guys.
I was listening to 2 of these guys macking on this older lady and I just could not stop laughing. (They were standing right behind me doing this, and the guys were SO drunk, and it was just SO funny.)
After that I finished my drink, contently listened and watched the atmosphere. Inner monologue: What a cool place. Look at all the dudes with short hair. Did I step into some sort of officer’s club? I must have. :P
It was fun watching the drunk people around me. I enjoyed a very VERY mild buzz, but of course we were there for over 2 hrs, so my drinks lasted as long as our stay and were worn off at the end.
The sappy song, “I’ll make love to you,” came on as a closing song and Jim and I were talking about it, when somehow his friends were like, “get out there!” “C’mon.”
I was amused and it sounded fun so I got up and Jim followed. (After some measure of reluctance.)
It was short and sweet and slow-dance-y. And the sappy side of me totally ate it up even though it was SO cheesy. After that we thought about going to some sort of “after-party,” after our food. We went to get Pho, which was okay – though not quite what I would have preferred after such an exhausting thing as car-buying.
It was okay. Not great, not bad.
The after-party fell through because they were charging for drinks there and it just did not sound attractive anymore.
We came back, hung out at the apartment a while longer. We stayed up until 4AM.
Rufus was very kind and adjusting to food – so he woke me up 3 hrs later to go out.
I was not a happy camper. And then 2 hrs later, and 2 more hours later.
Friday was a LOT of fun.
I was glad to meet a few more of Jim’s friends – and I really liked their bar.
