Brief update.
Yesterday was fun after work; I went to my grandma's and hung out with my parents/grandparents for the afternoon, and Jim called me when the army let him out of army-stuff.

Yeay for the trip to grandma's.

Felix the cat seemed to not be doing so well over there. It appeared he might have had a stroke or some sort. He could not stand up and his eyes seemed not to be tracking properly. The family executive decision was made to euthenize the cat.
Ether. And an air-tight tub.

I know a lot of folks would probably think this is a bad thing - albeit, in our family we don't always take animals to the vets to do this sort of thing. It honestly is contingent on how much the animal is suffering - and that is what it comes down to. Most of the time, collectively nobody has money to do this, and partially the origin of doing this ourselves is that on that side of our family - we came directly from a line of farmers, these matters were always taken into our own hands. Things handled on the farm are far different than the modern day solutions of always taking it to somoene else to deal with. It, I would safely comment, is a culture of my family.

Felix was pretty old anyway - and yeah, we've done a ton of these with animals we felt needed to be put out of their misery.

So it went.
I wasn't particularly attached to Felix, and as most things are, unless I know cats really well - I'm not too torn up over the death of them. There are exceptions to this.

Later that night I left grandma's and took the dogs down to Tacoma because after the 4th, I left my make-up bag in Jim's room. GRrr, right? He had a pretty lousy day at work with the army and his allergies seemed to be killing him. I suppose standing out in a grass field all day training cadets near a gas chamber where other cadets were being trained had something to do with his totally aggravated allergies.

Sooooooo... he had vented to me earlier in the day about how the next 3 weeks straight of 7 day work weeks may not be so fun in general. (And in general about the things he went through for the day...) It seemed he could use some cheering up, so when I called him to let him know there were a couple of options

1- He could talk to me on my drive home.
2- He could talk to me on my way to his apartment,

He was delighted about this and said that it would make his day if I drove out to his place.
I was not so reluctant at all anyway. The class in Seattle didn't start until 8:30 - and I figured I'd get up at 5AM (that's how early I get up usually when I go to work from his place) because Jim was leaving for work at the same time.
Tacoma from Burien was just as close as Issaquah would have been.

The evening was pleasant.
I am a fan of just hanging out and bullshitting.
It makes it obvious to me that my next housing choice WILL be some sort of group environment.
That won't happen, I get the feeling - for quite some time.

Anyways. Then there was bed ;) and then there was sleep.
And then I got up. Drove home. Put the doggies away.
Drove to Seattle.
Am here in said class that has finished ENTIRELY too early.
However. I do not feel eager to run back to work.
