Ah.
Another fascinating morning.
Tim stayed at the office until 11 because of the DC meeting. Heh. Sucks to be Tim.

*blinks*

My frustration in certain areas last night was heightened.
I wish there was something I could do to alleviate downright stupidity.
I guess it just makes me angry when people blow things out of proportion.
Especially when it is all so near to my own heart.
I know that sometimes venting in an e-forum can evoke negative repercussions....
But something this extreme? The notion is, as I’ve said... preposterous.

The mockery of real danger, is what I see it as.
Real tragedy. The same forces that drive the insanity that has caused people to be paranoid in school, I feel, is being displayed in it’s strongest form here.
Ridiculous, ridiculous, ridiculous.

As someone said to me last night:
“Who needs enemies, when you’ve got friends like that.”
Here, here.

I know who I am and who I represent.
That’s why I didn’t act any further than I really have.

Dissipation of all this will make things better.
Writing more will make things worse.
But I’d preferably write something, rather than act on something.
That simple.
There *are* safeguards.

End of story.

Though it should always make anyone feel better to go to my previous entry under cut. It's guarenteed to make you smile.

Today has been alright.
We cleared out the learning lab of all the machines and monitors.
In comes the municipal court. Goody, goody.

After doing that and feeling a bit gross....
I was informed Julie had a meeting to describe the phone system and paging functionality to the safety committee. If Issa10 had not had a partial hard-drive failure, she would be able to make it. Impromptu meeting presentation time for me. I was called upon to speak to the safety committee at last the minute. Joy.

Ah. All done with that.
More work on deck.

Hey, I hope you don't think that "who you are and who you rep" thing was aimed specifically at you, 'cuz it wasn't at all. I felt it was a good PSA for the times, in addition to being a carefully tactful response to certain other responses to certain other posts that you may or may not have seen.

So, where are you taking me hiking this weekend? We should chat about that, huh?

:D

I figured it wasn't directly aimed at ME per se, but it could have been partially me.

That was my thought on it.
It is good PSA, because there is ever more crap floating around this arena lately.

Let's see. I'm thinking about either Talapus Lake or Olallie Lake in the Alpine Lakes area, which is right past North Bend area.
It's about... what, 3 miles and quite do-able comfortably in 2-3 hours, round trip, with no stopping.
We can spend however long, but that's just an overall estimate to give you an idea.

A simple day-hike, though I must say, I have not hit the trail in a month, so we'll take it easy to a certain degree.
;)

I'm looking forward to it!

3 miles round trip, or one-way? It's only fair to warn you I barely survived 7 miles in one day on a really easy trail (of course that WAS while carrying a 40+lb pack...) I've been to Alpine Lakes once, we hiked straight up out of the Pass, and I remember it being very...steep.

And sadly, the place where my age shows most is my hips and knees, so I'm gonna have to take it easy...I hope I'm not too much of a slowpoke for you! I'm hoping to be ready to meet you by noon (earlier if possible, but I'm trying to be realistic) and I want to pick Bobby up at 6. Am I being completely unreasonable?

I fear I sound like a colossal wimp...

Don't fear sounding like a wimp.
I hike at whatever pace those around me hike.
And I like it, regardless!
Good company is far more fun than racing down the trail.
Though both have their place :)

Noon sounds good. As long as we're down by 5:00, we're good. 6 at latest, to ensure no darkness :D

Ah. I believe it's a nice simple 2.25 miles to Talapus lake from the parking area-- and Ollalie must be a little further [there's a fork that goes off to Ollalie.] I've been to Talapus, not more than 2 months ago. Things are ALWAYS easier without a 40lb pack. I know. ;)

You'll do fine. Day-trips are nice that way.
Here's a description from a website:
"Talapus and Olallie Lakes are an easy evening hike. It is less than 2.4 miles to Talapus Lake with an elevation gain of less than 800 feet. Olallie lake is just a half mile or so passed Talapus lake and only a few hundred feet higher."

It'll be a perfect hike for us at this point, I suspect.

Uhh you will need the pass witch is in my car. Unless you plan to buy another one or have already done so, if you want it just let me know. Btw you should still have the maps if you want to check the distances. Olallie is actually closer I believe unless you decide to go to the far side of the lake. And the 2.4 miles is from a different trail head then the one we took. It is closer to 3 or 3.5 miles from the trail head we headed out from 2 months ago.

ps this anonymous thing is a little annoying :-)

Okay.
If you promise to post with reserve and respect for me....
[Realize I am VERY sensitive to what you say]...
Then, I'll unban your commenting.

And I would *love* my pass. I was planning on buying another one, but I was also thinking of asking you.
I plan on going from the lot we went last time....
so okay. That's helpful. I thought I gave you back the maps? Hm.
Okay.
Well thanks. We'll have to arrange me to get the maps.
BTW. I have a bag of miscellaneous clothes of yours that has been filtering through.

Jeah.

-Angela

And shit.

So jeah.

Ok I will try and post with reserve. And you have all of the camping gear still. So you should have the maps. I think they may be in my pack in the top section. Not sure though. I did realize you are sensitive to what I say. I just happened to realize it a little to late to do anything about it. So yeah, I am going to get off work around 6. Don't know what you have planned for this evening but I could stop by and get you the pass.

Hm.
I'd like to clean out the packs and then you can have them.
Hm. I guess today is our only option as I've got plans that will take me away from the duplex after work Friday and Saturday is when we're doing a quick day trip.

I'll have to clear the packs out another day to give them to you, but it's okay if you stop by to drop off the pass.
Not too long of a visit, okay? I'm feeling good today. Let's keep it that way.

Jeah.

You're unbanned. But *please* use reserve with what you type.
It seems we all have trouble with that occassionally, and I understand that... but, it was getting pretty difficult for me. So let's do us both a favor and stay civil.

Despite what you think, you *have* been an important part of my life. I'd prefer we not have all this crap flying back and forth, and if it does, I will be forced to ensure the crap stays out of my life. Let's just keep this on the low [not a TON of contact] until we're both better adjusted to our lives.

Ok deal, I should be able to get there around 6:30ish unless traffic is horrible. I think that I am doing much better now, although I still have times when I have a mood swing every now and then and that really sucks. But overall I am doing okay. Believe me I don't want to ruin your day. Infact it will make my day just to get to see you even if it is only briefly. Work has been rather uneventfull.

-Steve

ps yeah my icons, I'll try to remember to change my default icon :)

Don't worry about being slower than her, I definetly am... and Angela is very nice about it. She stays with you and doesn't complain or anything.... and is just happy to be out with good company, as she said! :)
