I haven't been able to update like I've wanted to. But this is going to have to do for now. It should suffice to say that the weekend is flying by. I am relaxing, as I scheduled this last 2 weeks with little plans. I decided to drive out to Sultan to hang out with James. This was a good idea. I knew though, as I left, as the Issaquah area was getting snowed on, that I would probably not go home that evening. While driving about 30 mph max speed on i-90 because the roads were so icey, I inched my way over to the Snohomish county side of town. We finally got there, as it seemed to have cleared up just past Duvall. That was good.

Needless to say, we took the Cherokee out and drove further up the Sultan basin with the 2 dogs, the brother, the Steve, and myself. We played in the snow, burried the Dachshund so he was frozen in the snow, and played with the big Moose [or the big Golden Retriever, Rocky.] So, I kept Rufus in my coat as he became extremely cold. Rocky tripped each of us in the snow at least once while we were running. It was funny. He tripped me when I had Rufus down my shirt. My coat actually... I shoved him up to be inside with me and he poked his head out the top of my little fleece jacket. It was fun. Then we drove back. It was mighty icey...and as everyone should know, 4 wheel drive is barely better than 2 in ice. We made it back, as the temperature made an almost immediate drop. My mom concluded she was not driving out to Redmond to go to work.

Jill, however had plans for today and was bent on not losing "$100"... sooo... she headed out to work. There is this big hill to get to where we live, up Sultan Basin road... pretty steep. Well, shortly after Jill left, we decided to try and go to the store. So, we were driving up to the hill when we saw Jill's tail lights and some other ppl's tail lights nearer to the bottom of the hill. We were closer to the top in the Cherokee. My dad was driving and we asked him, "why aren't you stepping on the breaks?" and he said, "I am. We're just not stopping." My dad is the kind of calm laid back guy who doesn't freak out in these situations. Always a good thing. He steered to the side where there was a bank that had snow and traction. The entire hill was a sheet of ice. Jill seemingly, was the first to discover this. Then this big Scout truck was going up and slid out sideways right on the other side of the road to Jill. Jill had made it most of the way down the hill in Sassy, her 1996 3000GT... but when she too realized she could not stop... she steered to the bank where the snow was, and decided to stop before the guard rails were on both sides of the road. This was close, but not quite to the bottom. So this was a big happening. She watched the [nice guys] try and push the Scout out of the middle of the road so that the sander truck could get by. Course, this took a long time and it almost hit her car, but they managed to get it on the side.

Of course, impatient people and idiots attempted to go up and down, a few making it, a few getting stuck also on the hill. My parents, at the top of the hill, weren't going to move. But as I went up to relay to them that Jill was fine and it was indeed a solid sheet of ice enough for me not to be able to stand on the road itself, there were these idiots up top shouting at us saying something like, "You better not move... stay where you're at.." over and over at me. I was like, "fuck off... you don't know what we're doing anyway." But I didn't say that. The case was, my parents, the cherokee were also stuck. They just didn't want to go further down the hill. That was that. So, after about an hour and the sander going up and down and the sander's sand freezing in the truck and a bunch of fools nearly hitting both the cars being impatient and going up or down anyway, we got loose. Steve and I, and Rufus, spent the night here. We will be making our journey in Joe back to the Issaquah side of town. We've since had hot chocolate, pizza, and craisins! Yeay. Anyway.

That's so great! Rufus burried in snow? Did you take pictures? That would be so funny! You're little doggy rocks!

We haven't gotten together in what seems like a long time (even though it is likely just about a week). Time to start schedualing!
