Nobody Inspired Me to do this photo comparison of my first car.
Verses the car that I now own!!!

So, under the cut are WAY TOO BIG photos:

Ahhh, a long way I have come since I was 16.
No head gasgets blowing, no fuel line breaking, no oil plug falling out and the engine seizing.

And yet - me and the bombin' Dynasty had some very good days and I also adored that car. It was MY car, and that was what made it special.

Thank you gods!

I think everyone starts with a junker. :) But it's good to see the nice car that you have today! :)

Everyone?

Not hardly, my friend.
Most of the kids at my highschool (before I got a car) got brand new cars for their 16th birthdays or some shit.
If not brand new - well, they got cars that were far from junkers.

Heh.
;)

I didn't grow up in a richie neighborhood, so everyone I knew (including myself) started with a junker. :)

I moved a lot - however.
I went to Eastlake High School on the Plateau (then Redmond, now Sammamish.)

:)

Soooo there you have it.

Also - there are other folks who aren't necessarily "rich" types, that got non-junkers from parents too :)

It's not too uncommon in middle-class households I think.
I personally believe it's good for folks to start out with junkers. But that's me.

I mean - those who never had to worry or deal with constant break-downs, don't appreciate it when it doesn't happen.

And stuff.

Yeah, I never really lived in a Redmond-type neighborhood. `^_^

I agree. You kinda work your way up from a junker. :) I paid my dues with the '82 Thunderbird, that's for sure. `^_^

Not if they went to my old high school (Newport). It was the thing to get a new car when you turned 16.

It was always pretty obvious who had been given a car and who bought their own (unless they were borrowing a parents' car).

Heh, so different from Poulsbo...I remember a few kids had newer cars, but most have hand-me-downs and junkers.

EASTSIDE BABY!

Well, not so much...many of my friends that live around here didn't grow up around here. I'm not sure I know many people that grew up and still live here. `^_^

Also.
