Drama in the hood.

Not excessive. We’re going to Vancouver this weekend (hooray!!) and Kelsi, Jim, Mike, and myself are going because Ernest-the-pussy backed out. This being said – Kelsi and Mike’s experience together has been flirtatious, Mike showed interest, and Kelsi didn’t really feel comfortable/that she could make a relationship work with Mike. It wasn’t what she wanted, and she did make this clear in a fair and polite way. She said it outright and told him the truth without being ruthless about it.

Part of it was that she HAD just gotten out of a relationship that she was pretty head-over-heels in love with the guy about, and it ended abruptly. She also didn’t feel like time realistically would make it work because Mike lives in Tacoma. (With Jim.)

I personally am happy with the fact they didn’t get together. Call me weird, but I don’t think I want my boyfriend’s best friend and my best friend dating – especially when they’re room mates. I saw potential for drama/weirdness. If that was what they wanted, I would have dealt and been happy for them – I just was concerned regardless. Call me crazy, but that is what my feelings were on the issue.

Anyways. So then Kelsi and I were hanging out the other weekend at the club and she met Shane. Now, Shane in and of himself is another story. So, she has a new boyfriend at the moment because her and Shane hit it off pretty well and Shane was willing to make the drive from Marysville, where he lives – to West Seattle.

All well and good. This weekend Ernest backed out – and Jim, Mike, and I, along with Kelsi are going. Ernest is still paying his hotel portion or I knew Mike would back out (which would have royally pissed.me.off.)

SO ANYWAY – she tries to invite a friend from school and that falls through. Too last minute. The proposal last night at like 11 or 12 comes up. “Is it okay if I invite Shane with us?” While it would normally be fine – I’m uncertain as to how Mikey will feel about this. He had a crush on her briefly at the very least, and he was let down by her very recent. Due to “her heart being recently broken,” and other logistics. One of her concerns was that Mike is a soldier and she was concerned with all the issues also that come with dating a soldier. I know them all too well and as I made my decision that I’d stick by him in the event he gets re-deployed… she also made hers.

Regardless.
So she wasn’t planning, as it so often goes – on meeting someone that she hit it off with. She immediately crushed on this guy and obviously that’s enough right there to make the difference between the two sensible. I mean, if I don’t feel strongly about someone, there is no point in dating them really for me. Magnetism is magnetism.
Attraction is attraction is attraction.
Whether it is mental, physical, or whatever.

This being said, Mike hasn’t heard about her boyfriend and this Vancouver plan was made months ago – I might add that TJ was initially in the mix. And he has since left. So we’ll see.

I called Jim to ask who will now broach Mikey to see how he reacts on the topic. We’ll all be in the car in close quarters, 5 folks in my car.

*shrugs* Ahhh whatever the case I am excited to be going with Jimmy! And as long as this doesn’t push anyone out of the trip – I am happy.
I just do not want it to be awkward for anyone.
And honestly – I do not know Shane well yet. Sure this would help me get to know him. At the same rate, until I realize this guy isn’t full of poopoo, I’m a little concerned in general.

But those are things that are not for Publicly Posted journal entries.

Anyhow - last minute shit like this? BLAHRG. and fuck Ernest for cancelling at the last possible minute as well!!!

well ya know how it goes.. honesty and openness always the best policy. Mike should probably know ahead of time though.. Just in case HE wants to back out. So tell Jim to tell Mike that hey.. Kelsi is bringing her guy. then Mike can make up his own mind AND he's informed.

DUH. We aren't big assholes to spring it on Mike completely without telling him - wow.

Well, before he'd back out, we'd tell Shane to go take a hike. cause ja. Sides, I don't know if Shane would pay his share or not. I'm uncertain and I *know* Mike will. None the less. It annoys me when people add shit into the mix like the DAY of. That's what I'm mostly complaining about :)

Anyways. I think Kelsi is calling Mike directly anyways which I found to be a better idea.
