A little quiet
Jan. 10th, 2007 05:41 pm2007, January - has proved to be a little quiet for me on LJ.
I feel like the end of the year was having me struggling with fruitful posts even though I have a lot going on that I could record.
Same thing only less mundane facts being recorded.
This being said: here goes a stab at the mundane questions that run through my head at any given moment:
1. Can I exercise AND play WoW at once in the evenings?
2. How can I maximize the benefits of the sort of foods I am eating?
3. What magickally can I do to improve this year?
4. Are there unresolved relationships floating in the abyss of my life?
5. When can I go home?
6. If I go home and take a nap, will I wake up to go swim laps, or sleep through it?
7. If I take a nap, will I be able to sleep later tonight?
8. If I stay up and then go to bed slightly earlier, will I just sleep later still?
I've been fighting fatigue all day.
I had more rest yesterday.
It may be a blood sugar thing.
It may not.
15 minutes until the workday closes.
It is snowing. What a great inconvenience to me.
I am going to go to Tampa, Florida in March. I hope it's sunny enough to get some sun exposure.
I am also going to probably end up in Nashville, Tennessee with my dad and a friend of his.
I may end up financing part of his trip (if not all, we'll see how my budget is or how much if any they can help out on that.)
The biggest reason I think I want to make that leg of the trip happen is because it would be a priceless trip for my father.
He loves to fantasize about that part of the country. He loves to imagine and fancy he was a southern fellow. And at best, he is a Southern Californian migrated North for the last 2 some decades.
Funny he ended up in Washington State, and the Seattle area. He isn't a rain liker.
Lucky for me I love both the rain and the sunshine. I do not, however - enjoy snow. That is the one weather pattern that tends to *piss*me*off*. I cannot even pretend it's that enjoyable. Perhaps I like that the snow makes everything look brighter at night, maximizing on some level, the use of the outdoors. Although, to me, usability of the outdoors to do anything fast goes down with ice.
Fuck that.
Anyways.
Nashville and Tampa may be my 2007 destinations.
Susan from high school and her brother-Robert (a brief boyfriend of the past, not Scully-) bought a house in Tampa together. They're very happy there.
I get to go chill out with Susan for a week on her break.
And our plans look like this: Clubbing at night, laying on the beach during the day.
The March 9-16: Tampa, Florida. I should look up things I might like to do while I am in the area. Anyone with suggestions feel free to comment.
March 16-19: Nashville, Tennessee. My father has an internet friend he has known for some time in Nashville. He loves the country scene, specifically young female country hotties. Whatever we do doesn't really matter seeing as he'll get to meet a long time friend from across the nation (honestly a long time fantasy of my own with one or two of my net-friends, although we've grown older and I didn't feel too much like burdening my 13-year-old-net-boyfriend...) Okay, well, that sounds wrong. He's my age. 22, although we first started talking when I was about 13. And we effectively had what one would call a "long term internet relationship." This lasted surely over a year or so. Whatever the case, you've got to admit it is the safest form of coupling you can have if you are both legitimately 13 year olds.
Which, we were. We (Paul and I) still consider it somewhat as having been a "REAL" experience.
I was touched to hear he had kept a picture I sent him. Connecticut.
Now we both have IRL signficant others. I wouldn't want to bug the Computer Engineering major at UCONN.
Pauliepie is frankly a brilliant young man.
I could describe my old hang out on IRC, #TLA, all Tolkien geeks - 13-14-15, 3 years of steady involvement with each other, and then some after TLA died out.
The group of us all, save for Johan, my dear Swedish friend - ended up in the IT sector as we grew into adults. Fancy that. (My word of this entry is fancy.)
Johan has had a variety of differing jobs, although I don't think he ended up in the IT sector. He's a little older.
I cannot deny that the environment us techno-kids created with each other didn't very much serve a strong purpose. We fit in, we had confidants, and we had a bond with each other that I think few people really would have understood. We shared knowledge, inspired each other to learn, and ultimately this shaped us to follow our true paths towards who we are, and turned out to be, today. I still talk with 75% of the people from #TLA , a passworded IRC channel. Anyways. Kelsi is on the phone. I can't really continue coherently. !

Date: 2007-01-11 02:48 am (UTC)He bought a rack (basically a set of shelving) that he could put monitor/keyboard/mouse on at the appropriate levels, and a recumbent stationary bicycle. At this point he generally spends between 2 to 5 hours every day biking while playing WoW, with one minor break in the middle for changing into non-sweat-soaked clothes. He also finds he has to snack while he's playing as well, because he's burning too many calories.
Yes, really.

Date: 2007-01-11 03:25 am (UTC)Heh, Pun intended... WoW!
Date: 2007-01-11 03:13 am (UTC)Hmmm. I doubt I could play for 5 hrs, but I know many people who can and do.
It totally encompasses the multitasking and distraction that is awesome for that sort of activity (stationary biking.)
Too bad they don't have hookups for laptops in gyms and stuff.
