The stress
Jan. 17th, 2007 01:12 pmThe stress dissipates.
I slept in a lot today. Until 8:00AM. I worked a full 10 hour day on Tuesday; and this week is 8 hour days.
As my boss said - as long as my hours add up to 40 and we get proper coverage, I can give or take a few hours in the mornings/evenings.
So there it is. I was totally warranted to start work at the late 8:30AM. And it was wonderful hitting the snooze button like 20 times. Because Jim wasn't there to get annoyed at my constant snooze button.
I'm horrible about hitting the snooze button. It feels SO GOOD to flip off the clock and sleep even though the alarm went off.
And I don't get tired of it. Many people find this obnoxious.
I know Jim does, but he realized I have to hit it at least once or I go back to sleep and don't get up again.
Which is bad. B A D.
Digression.
The job has been posted. I am at peace with the idea I don't give a flying fuck what happens.
I am getting, after COLA - a total 14% annual raise after promotion and my other annual raise.
I'll be doing LESS brain intensive work.
How should I really whine?
It isn't all about money, but I can say this honestly ... so what?
I don't need to stress about the job.
And I don't need to stress about Jim so much.
I just need to learn to open my pressure valve before it opens itself.
I'll get there.
And, a lot of comforting comments have went out sympathizing. And these are people who are fulfilled in their relationships. It's just a difference that people have regarding asking for things.
It helps to know it's a relatively normal response for many people - on each side.
Some people do things X way. Some people do things Y way. And then I am sure there is Z way, and A way and B way.
So.
I'll just cope.
I had other things to say but then some people started talking to me and yeah this thing called work.
OH - I GET MY LEATHER COAT BACK AND GET TO SEE JOSHIE WASHIE!()&%(@*&
All in the same night. I am picking Joshie up from the airport.
And then I can visit with him and take him to his home and then get my coat back.

Date: 2007-01-17 09:36 pm (UTC)Wisdom teeth painkillers - I had no real problem with them. It was kind of annoying but the only time the meds made me feel crappy was when I'd been taking them for a few days and it was time to get off. The signs for that were that I was super tired and kept taking a nap every half hour. Good luck, and I think it'll be fine. :)
So that's my 2 cents... yeah.
Yeay

Date: 2007-01-17 09:49 pm (UTC)An hour early so I can "sleep in" 30 "extra" minutes.
heh.
And when the weather warms up - I also have the option of not being lazy and exercising if I get up an hour early.

Date: 2007-01-17 09:53 pm (UTC)Right before the weather turned wacky, I had resolved to get up early and exercise so many times a week.
And then the ice came.
I can't run in ice.
:/
Oh well.
This crappy weather too, shall pass.

Date: 2007-01-18 01:10 am (UTC)I love when I wake up an hour before I actually have to, because that gives me sufficient time to prepare myself for being wrenched away from the peace of slumber.
