How fun: http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/b.html

DST changes in 2007. BLah. I am curious about how people are feeling about the fact that Bush this year - called a change on our usual DST switching. It's been the same since 1966. And now. It changes. hm.
I donno if I like it. Damnit. What about all ya'll on my list? Do speak up.
From a tech's view: What a pain in the ass. I am sure MS will issue a patch. But then there's every other ap to start thinking about too. Hm.

Lastly: DST confuses me enough as it is. Really. I know the idea is simple but it doesn't translate simply in my head. For whatever reason. GROWL.

He basically decided that rather than inconvenience only the SUV drivers of the world or gasp mandate a higher MPG average for vehicles, that changing the DST effective dates would somehow save more energy.

"I don't really care how time is reckoned so long as there is some agreement about it, but I object to being told that I am saving daylight when my reason tells me that I am doing nothing of the kind. I even object to the implication that I am wasting something valuable if I stay in bed after the sun has risen. As an admirer of moonlight I resent the bossy insistence of those who want to reduce my time for enjoying it. At the back of the Daylight Saving scheme I detect the bony, blue-fingered hand of Puritanism, eager to push people into bed earlier, and get them up earlier, to make them healthy, wealthy and wise in spite of themselves."
(Robertson Davies, The Diary of Samuel Marchbanks, 1947, XIX, Sunday.)
Well said. ^_^

It's f*cking up series meetings here at work, or rather, something about how it's being handled is. It's highly annoying for those of us who manage other people's calendars for a living.

MS will probably put out a patch.
But, there are tons of other things that are not MS.
It's still just a pain in the ass.
