As I figured
Feb. 2nd, 2007 04:35 pmAs I figured, I didn't get the position.
I'm not too torn up over this.
The issue is that my boss is urging me now (again?) to look at the upcoming replacement of Julie's position.
Network Admin.
I am sick of interviewing against my co-workers in an office full of 2 other techs.
It means my next option is to interview opposing Tim #2.
My comrade and coworker. All well and good.
I just really. After feeling not up to par last time, am not getting a warm fuzzy feeling for the next one.
My boss was glad that I interviewed and gave it a shot. He made this clear.
And he doesn't want me to give up.
He made the extra clear as well. Now I know that 93% of the interview has to do with server/technical specifics - and almost zero percent of your standard interview "this is who I am" crap.
That means if I DO decide to interview for Network Admin (which he is saying will open within the next two weeks) then ... I will have to seriously take a look at our systems and try and get a feel for what obscure, system specific questions may come up.y
This seems daunting. And interviewing again, against someone close in the workplace, AGAIN - is not appealing to me. It wasn't appealing to interview against Julie. Maybe this is what is causing me to be all emotionally catty-wompus. The stress from the shifts at work. I think it's a good chance.
*sighs* I'm just not enjoying this segment. I wanted to enjoy February. BLAH.
