Welllll.
So, I went to the dentists. It may or may not be what is causing the pain - my crown. Although the Crown definitely needed done. So, $1093 (yes, 93 is in there somewhere) later, I am crown prepped and next Wednesday get my new crown. Joys.

No wonder I have no savings. $700 for wisdom teeth and $1093 for the one crown.
*sighs* I hope it resolves the problem. *finger crossing*

If her coverage is anything like mine, that's the out-of-pocket expense after insurance.

Yeah. I maxed out my insurance. It covers $1500 for the year. Wisdom teeth extractions are spendy. The $700 was after my standard coverage was maxed.

Ahhh fun. But yeah. Gotta do what you gotta do and it's definitely way better than dealing with pain and letting it get worse and even MORE expensive over time.

Dental care is pretty pricey, unfortunately. A lot of insurance companies don't cover much beyond cleanings and fillings.

Yeah, it works out. It wouldn't probably get more expensive, possibly just more painful.

lol.

The price of the procedure could always go up ;)

I really hope that will bring an end to your pain. If it does, $1093 is definitely worth it. That's about what it cost me to fix up Merlin (the stuff that was treatable anyways), and not a day has gone by since where I'm anything but thoroughly glad I spent the money. I can't say I have any savings right now either, but I like to think I've made a very good investment. =) With any luck, you'll be able to say the same thing soon too.

Yeah

It's just hard to see Jim have a ton of savings, know he makes less than me, and know I have very little.

But then, a few things.
He has room mates, he got all of it in one lump sum, I believe his parents did help him move out, and he has the GI bill for school expenses, and then there's the year he was earning money and not spending it when he was in Iraq... sooo, I guess if I had gotten a lump sum I'd have some savings too. I'm not the sort to spend everything.

Jeah. That's what makes it hard for me.

But that's okay.

I had a lot of savings before I moved too, and lot of times I scratch my head wondering where the hell all my money went, even with a better-paying job than I had a year ago.

Yet I know a lot of things happened that I couldn't control but needed to be responsible for--including a move and lots of sick animals.

Not having savings is hard though. It's not fun getting a paycheck and watching it become entirely sapped over the course of 2 days, rather than keeping a little bit to claim as your own.

Like you, I can at least feel good that I can cover all my own expenses--I swear though, life is harder for young people these days than it was for our parents' generation. That may be totally presumptuous on my part, but when I talk to my parents about it, it sounds like they had an easier time getting by than young people are having today.
