Hi Angela's Boss,
The Permit Center staff extends a big “Thank You!” to Angela Santo for her assistance in getting us back up and running with the MLS website. Last week, some upgrades occurred to the MLS website and, as a consequence, we were unable to process our work online – our connection to the MLS portal failed. Angela had to troubleshoot the connection issue with MLS Tech Support and then paste the fix the our workstations, one by one. She did all this with a cheery attitude and professional demeanor.
We rely on your staff so much to keep us connected to the world! Thank you so much for always being there for us!
Sincerely,
Permitting manager lady

So yesterday seemed harsh. I was angry and really generally having a bad day. Somehow I get kudos anyway, in spite of the fact I thought I did the worst I've done as far as customer service goes. Of course, that was with one permit tech, and I did eventually get to it.
I don't understand the Universe... but what fun would it be if I did?
Secondarily, I got my car washed, trying to get those stupid cherry blossom dried uglies off my car. It mostly worked. And on my way back from CHNW, BH - the cop that always ends up seeing me in town (no idea why, but it is always officer BH). While stopped at a stoplight he purposely pulled up next to me and put his passenger window down and proceeded to ask me if I wanted to race, and talked to me some before the light turned green. Too funny. BH has a knack for making me feel better about myself. Maybe he borderlines on flirtatious? I can't put my finger on it. At first it made me uncomfortable. Now I realize he is just being friendly.
People being pleasant today made my life way easier.
And I can't help but laugh about BH. These days a little recognition from the police does make me feel better in regards to my shifted position.
The old timers will always remember my service.
I can honestly say that the most reliable I have ever been was for the police. I know the importance of public safety, and I know it has been one of the bigger challenges at times that I have had in my career. Things that cause me to exert more effort are more fulfilling to me.
And it still stands that I implemented the MDTs - and before that, they had none. Even though this place gets old and stagnant for me some days, I can't help but feel a lot of appreciation on other days from the users.
I suppose I will just keep on trudging along and one day things will look up. Some parts of working here WOULD be hard to leave, if I went that far.
