Rotary Run Registration

Some people say it is after you publicly sign up for an event.
I myself just say that I am because I know that I am.

After hemming and hawing for a month – I’ve signed up.

This is my first public event ever. I’m excited. It’s actually a little daunting to think of doing this in a group (do the others get in the way, do I become discouraged because of faster people, how do I pace myself in a group???) but… then again, I could just shut down and tunnel vision it – you know, who cares about anyone else? It’s supposed to be raining, right on. As long as it isn’t windy, that’s fine! I saw the t shirts and they were really cool and a neat color of green. The $25 is well worth the experience and the neato skeato T Shirt. It’s o-ffish-al! Sunday morning I’ll be doing my run. Annnnd, it is my first official 5K. Pretty neat. And of course, nervousness of the unknown is just part of it.

I will do a run tonight, rest for Saturday, and then do the fun run on Sunday. Sounds fantastic! And if I can get out to the Nike outlet, I’d really like to get my shoes exchanged. The arch in one of my new shoes was causing one of my arches in my foot to ache halfway through. My old shoes don’t do that.

I am not sure if it’s the shoe or what. I am banking that it is, and maybe there is just something weird about that particular shoe.

Anyways. Here’s to a new experience and a pretty green running shirt!

If it's anything like "official starting time" bike rides I've been in or runs I've watched (and the starting pic on their site), the beginning can seem chaotic as everyone gets from still to moving, but it doesn't last long as faster folks outpace others and spread it out. Have fun! ^_^
