I decided to give it my gamble to see if I could find Belvedere Park (3600 block on Admiral Way).
I figured the worst that could happen was a nice drive along the wondrous Seattle waterfront. And even though I didn't meet up with, or go out with some other folks (heronfolk) I still had a good time watching the sun come up over there in West Seattle. I knew it would be pretty no matter what.

I have decided that as my Yule tradition from here on out, I will find some place to greet the sun on Solstice Morning... because it just seems so right.

Last night I went to herne51's Yule party, the one he has annually. We had a good time! We mostly hung out with lordofsporks and had a merry time doing so. The other Issy folks were heading out of the party when we headed in; I worked technically until 6 and completed a run to McD's before I headed to the party. Workouts before play!

I left the party earlier than usual because I knew I would want to get early today and greet the sun as it rose. Some way or other! Next year I think I will make a point of learning how to get there first.

All in all, so far it has been wonderful Yule. I then did some last minute shopping and got more coffee... came home, hung out with the boys (Rufus, Fritz, and Jim.) I gave him a couple of his gifts and chose to wait on the others until 24th Eve when I go to my parents for a gift exchange. Then we had breakfast, (I tried calling the heronpeople but... you know, I have no idea if my cell info for them is accurate anymore - and their home # would definitely be vacated due to them out celebrating Yuleness).

After breakfast we waited and then circuit trained. Now we will cool down, shower, eat lunch, go to Michael's, and then head out to OLOTEAS.
I am happy to have worked out 6 days this week (maximum, I figure an extra day helps compensate for my enjoyment of hollyday festivities!!!).

Next week starts a new exercise log week. :P I am excited to be nearing 4 miles on my runs now. It's technically about 3.8 miles. Perhaps in a week or two I will hit the 4 milers. This is... just. Nothing short of amazing to me. This week I also notice more progress on my push-ups. I - as I have said, have pretty weak/underdeveloped triceps. The biceps get use with my job all the time.

One note: Today while doing push ups (Jim watches because I am slower and catches up because he has quite developed push up skills...) he was chuckling and exclaimed, "*Jim giggle* THE VEIN IN YOUR NECK POPS OUT! Sweet!!!"

There is no doubt that I am pushing myself when I have veins popping out... :P

I cannot wait until all my gifts are received to family. It is going to be a nice week.
I have, however... chosen to go in on Mondays these hollyday weeks (this and next) for 2 hour shifts. Conserving vacation time so I can take some good ole' sanity time early 2008.
I am looking forward to life in 2008. I think things are looking up for me. I'm healthy, fit, and in a great rhythm. Let's just see how much I can improve, and perhaps add in a bit more social outgoing-ness than 2007 has displayed. Mostly, I lend a lot of my spirituality these days to taking care of myself within. But I want to be better about my social calendar and not exercising the reclusion, none the less.

Have a Happy Solstice, one and all. May the growing of the light bring warmth and happiness to your life in next calendar year. I am definitely ready for the longer days to come back!!!!

Blessed Yule.

I'm a procrastinator by nature. I want to get into shape, so have started a very relaxed work out routine. Mostly it just entails me walking to work. Not a big thing, but it's a start.

Seeing how far you have progressed is inspiring for me to continue and pick it up a notch more.

Hopefully I'll be able to look back after a year of working out with pride and success.
