angelak: (Blossom To Die)

I find the office some days - incredibly easy to focus on. But lately, the house buying fun has sort of slowly sapped away at my motivation in the workplace a bit. It is SO distracting, and while I've used it as a distraction before, it isn't always effective to get me MOVING.

Either way, still in underwriting. It sort of is maddening, but... I feel like yesterday our broker got some imperative stuff done. It suddenly makes me glad that I am going about this how I am. This guy is reputable, good at what he does, honest, and knows his stuff.

It's the difference between these hurdles killing the deal - and us moving onwards. Some weird year this has been - regardless. Months long of injury rehab. The lease ending sooner than the city was suggesting not too long ago...

Loan joys. Jim's discovery that his previous job (now) was not the best fit for him. Now we've got some major shifts that are happening. I can't complain... if this all goes through, we will be very proud of our new place because it is pretty awesome. It feels a little stronger than yesterday that this will work out. I figured after the offer was accepted it would be a bit less uphill than this. Not so.

Still incredibly excited. The kitchen. I am dying to re-situate and use the better designed kitchen. Our kitchen has zero counter space and is just old and crappy.

Anyway. Travis is being frustrating and talking about "if it doesn't work out," which is pretty much the last thing I want to hear when I've gotten a shot of optimism off of our broker.

If the broker feels a little more optimistic, right now I am going to also. Because what he is saying is making a lot of good sense and it looks better than I assumed it would at this moment. Appraisals, appraisals. As long as they determine our unit and the loan are reasonable and in a desirable area... then I think we move onwards.

Slow process, indeed.

;)
