30 day flossing trial, Day 2!
Dec. 16th, 2010 09:28 amYesterday I have started my 30 day flossing trial. Particulars of my trial are that I floss once every single day. It's not that I don't take care of my teeth - I do. It's interesting, when you mention this, people do make the cracks about taking care of your teeth, and why you should do this and blabhblah.
Well, of course! All those great facts have always been true, and you hear them at the dentist.
Which is why I am doing the trial. I am pretty diligent about my health in general. I make a lot of effort towards investing time and effort into my body in so many different ways.
I also have acknowledged the one area that is my biggest challenge IS gum health. I brush my teeth twice a day pretty regularly (unless I am traveling, admittedly I get sort of once a day on that). I have always struggled with the one element of dental health that is flossing. But something about my last experience in the dental chair really motivated me to want to really take charge of this.
I think the level of pain going down in the last several years has been what has helped me reach this place. I've been working on my dental health for the last decade. And finally, I'm at a place where flossing every day isn't as horrible as it once was. I had really bad gum disease in my early 20s. It has been a long road of real diligence to get where I am now: greatly improved and virtually normal again.
In the spirit of continuing improvement for myself, I am on day 2 of my 30 days straight of flossing.
Google "30 day trials," if you don't understand the concept of using 30 day trials to instill new habits for yourself. I am actually really amped to see how awesome my oral health can improve in 30 days! And amazingly enough, I've already inspired one or two people to begin taking charge of their gum health as well! What icing on the cake that is.
