Here I am, Tuesday morning.
I know my workday is shorter than usual. Today doesn’t look dismal by any means, but—by all means, am I the first and only one in the office. 2 things I should do. Check dispatch and make sure they can print, and then go get coffee. I’ll update more later. I seem awake enough. Did I bring my cop key card? Hope so. Yes. Yes I did.

*musters up the energy to move.*
Going across the street now.

For all those concerned, I'm doing okay today. So is Steve. He's sleeping... I wish I could be. The sun is shining through the window. I think I will... zzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz....

I hate it when Chris [my boss] takes time off.
Ugh. Chris is such an awesome boss. Chris is such an awesome boss. Chris is such an awesome boss.
Julie enjoys acting as supervisor. She’s just lousy at it. When you have an outwardly TRY to assert leadership skills and it’s as unnatural as it is for her, ugh. It just grates on me when she tries to be authoritative. Chris can tell me any which way and number of things to do, and I’d be on them in a heartbeat and I don’t think twice. The respect I have for Chris, does not automatically transfer to Julie. [But she assumes it should].
She’s lost so much of my respect in the past that nearly any tactic she may use to act as “leader,” just fails. A real leader [at least a good one] includes you and works with you--- not trying to show the hierarchy and rub it in your face. They also attempt to LISTEN to what you have to say. If Julie were my supervisor, I think I literally would search for work elsewhere. Putting other people down to raise yourself up, is not an effective tactic to gain respect. Ever.

Annoying that Chris will be gone this week. He rocks so hard, it’s not even funny.

Well, here’s my version of Thankful Thursday [I’m a trendsetter]

THANKFUL TUESDAY:

1. SO Glad for 95% of my co-workers
2. Thankful for the fact Chris is boss and that he kicks so much ass
3. Thankful for office humor and the ability to have office profanity. [Within our office only].
4. Being able to sustain myself comfortably [having enough money to be pretty damned happy]
5. Having such a loving, responsible partner and housemate… who also doesn’t give up easily.
6. My age or lack there of, my education, and my level of service.

"No, No! PC Tim is considering working for City of Mercer Island!!!"

He just informed us [the group of office buddies] that he is looking into applying for THIS position. Yes, it's true, Julie and Chris are NOT going anywhere, it makes more $, and it involves more administration. But *tear*!!! Tim rocks. I'd be thrilled for him [and his wife] but also more than just a little bummed because I enjoy working with him immensely. The guy cracks me up.

I wish I was sleeping...I didn't get to bed until 2am, then I woke up about 4:30am. Had to use the restroom, and then I got an e-mail from you-know-who. So I was up the rest of the morning responding to that.

But yes...mocha...ahhh...it makes everything better for a while. *LOL*

I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay. :)

Yay

Yay for being thankful for stuff. It's good to be realistic about the bad things in life, but it is equally good to keep perspective of the good things about life. For instance, my back aches like a *$@!*(&%*^!!! but I only have two more weeks of school, and then I'm off for three months. Hmm, I think I'm going to finish this comment, and then I'm going to LEAVE this classroom and go to work. And hopefully the food that I'm going to eat will wake me up a little. The kitten woke me up at 6:30am, and I kept thinking I had to get up (even though my alarm wasn't going to go off for another hour), so I couldn't get back to sleep. Erg. Maybe I'll take a nap when I get home. Well, I believe it's time for me to escape this horrible class, so I'll wrap this up... though I'm sure I'll be back. Mwahahaha!
