1- I experienced more pain while shopping at Safeway for one hour than I did running for 15 minutes and doing random calisthenics for the same amount of time.

2- I always feel like the more my blood is moving the less pain I experience.

3- My knees were tight before I ran.

4- My knees were not tight after I ran and stretched.

5- Tightness equates to some level of pain.

6- The absence of tightness equates to higher levels of painfreeness.

I really had fun working out today on lunch. It's so different than the Yoga workout, and I can't deny that I love it. Yoga is fantastic, but so are my old favorites. Even if it's in the gym for now. Later on I might migrate out to Gilman - but again. Patience and first things first. And if I am forced to do treadmill workouts, I may still have to find a way to budget one into my late 2009 plan somehow. Because I hate running with co workers amiss. They piss me off.
Especially mister arrogant runner guy that I work with. He's competitive and a jacktard. I was just praying he would be off the treadmill by the time I finished warming up on the elliptical. And to my good fortune, he was. He only said, as he left, "oh it IS you! Hi!" and that was it. It was downright pleasantry and nothing else behind it.

I was so relieved that he only passed on minute #4, and he didn't try and bug me or make any rude comments.

Thank the gods.
In other good news; I have re-partitioned my Acer 6930 (Jim commented that it has a 69 in it) - and am now in the middle of my new Ubuntu install. This makes me happy, because Ubuntu rocks the house.

Here at the office, working on all that stuff that needs worked on. Hoping to do some good work this week and close out all the pesky things. You know – those users I normally try and avoid because they’re different people than me.

What can I say? I can’t love everybody.

Also, my new HD showed up for my lappy. I’m installing XP first, and then I will follow-up with my gods’blessed install of the opsys I ACTUALLY boot into. Ubuntu 8.10.

I don’t really use XP, but it’s nice to have it – and a real pain in the ass to install dual-boot after the fact. There have been times when I wanted to install stuff and it wasn’t playing nice with Ubuntu. And these are the times I use my dual boot ver of XP. *shrugs!*

So, I gain some space with new HD. That’s awesome. I can store more MP3s locally instead of holding off on that. Bummer. I was part way through my XP install when I didn’t realize I hadn’t plugged in my power adapter. It died and then … I was forced to restart my install :P Annoying. Doing work (real work) and personal work at once. At least my personal install was neglected :P

I am just stoked to hurry up and get my damn installs up and settle back down into a boot up every time situation. The past week has annoyed me! More to come.

Well, confound it!
My Ubuntu updates fubared something in my install.
I'll be needing to fix that...

Although I'm in love with Compiz Fusion in many ways...
I have also messed up my graphic settings a few times trying to get too "creative" with it.
Right now I accidentally set my right click button as the rotate cube default (I was TRYING to reset it from Control+Alt to Button1+Button2 of the mouse...)

I guess the way I typed it didn't quite work right.
Now I'm fighting the hindered lacked of right click mouse function and the fact I can't get into the SYSTEM to edit compiz-advanced visualization settings. Oooooops.

This is, however - forcing me to use my creative skills and try and do it via command. I'm just lazy. And my last venture (to disable compiz, to remove compiz, etc) have failed to work.
I had tried to remove Compiz out of the autostart script (?) to see if that would work. Hmmmmmmmm. Damn Compiz!!!! Love/hate.

And the dormant woman writes:

I've had a wonderful time switching my system from Windows to Ubuntu 7.10. I am thinking of playing at home by bringing up an Ubuntu 7.10 Server next... think of the possibilities.
Sides. If I harrass herne51 enough maybe we can have a playdate and I could learn from his skillz.
It's been inspiring for me to take on a change. Giving me personal projects to supplement the idea that work has been... the same as it always is. I've been running as much as I can during the week. Last week was a 5 of 7 days exercise week.
I am hoping to do the same this week. CROSSES FINGERS!

This week has not been too bad. The boss has been out in a conference, and I have caught up on my work so far. I am hoping within the hour I will be able to leave so I can get a run in before Mel's surprise party this evening at Claim Jumper. My co workers invited me out (Tim and Tim) for lunch at Las Margaritas and it pretty much ate my lunch hour when I had planned to try and go running. That's okay.

I am sipping an energy drink to try and liven up my brain so I'll be motivated to bolt out of the office, get suited, and drive up to HighPoint way to do a quick trailrun. Change it up a bit from my usual... (Sunset to Front To Gilman back to Front back to Sunset and back home.) I do a nice little trail run around the bus trail and it's pretty neat after I run up the gravel road that you take to GET to the bus trail. Works nice for some incline work.
I saw my sister yesterday, she has been trying to convince me yet again to do synchro ice skating. I am concerned about time budgeting and such – but we'll see.
More to write but not enough brainpower. Drats. This will have to do.

Things are better today.
I came in an hour late on purpose.
I wasn't ready to come into the office yet.
I had a dumb night last night, but I am trying to move on from it.

Silver lining: only NGD and I are in the office today.
It appears to be slow for the time being, also.
This is good. Very good.

So no annoyance because most everyone is gone. NGD sometimes appears scared of me. I think it's because I'm intimidating to some people.

I have most of my Ubuntu installed on the laptop. I really want to give it a good test run and then if it works how I want it to after any tweaking, I will definitely ditch my Windows. I have everything I really care about backed up anyway - but I am starting with Dual Booting and then if I like it, I can build a Virtual Windows box on my Ubuntu box.

Way more efficient space wise.
Sides, Ubuntu is shiny. And I want to get the compiz shiny 3d cube to work. This is going to rock.

Any tweaks I feel like doing today. So that I can stop focusing on life.
And then I will be happy.
